Who it suits
Community participation suits people who want support to go out, connect with others and take part in activities they might find hard to do alone.
Funding
Community participation is usually funded from Core Supports (Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation) in your NDIS plan.
How we work with you
Built around your interests
We start with what you enjoy or want to try, whether that is a community garden, an art class or a footy game.
Confidence step by step
We can practise routes, timetables and transport apps together until you feel ready to do more on your own.
A familiar companion
The same support worker comes along, so outings feel easy rather than stressful.
Questions
Does my NDIS funding pay for the activity itself?
Usually your funding pays for the support worker's time. Tickets, entry fees and food are usually your own costs. We will explain this clearly before we start.
Can you help me learn to use public transport?
Yes. Support can include planning trips, practising routes together, reading timetables, using transport apps and handling delays, so you can travel more independently.
