NDIS personal care in Canberra

Help with the personal tasks of everyday life, from a support worker you have chosen and got to know.

What we can help with

  • Showering, bathing and personal hygiene
  • Dressing, grooming and getting ready for the day or for bed
  • Toileting and continence care, done privately and respectfully
  • Eating, drinking and help preparing meals
  • Moving safely around your home, including transfers
  • Reminders to take your medication

Who it suits

Personal care suits people who need help with daily personal tasks because of a physical, intellectual, sensory or psychosocial disability. It can be ongoing, scheduled support or short-term help, for example after a stay in hospital.

Funding

Personal care is usually funded from Core Supports (Assistance with Daily Life) in your NDIS plan. We will go through your plan with you at our first meeting.

How we work with you

You set the routine

Tell us how you like things done and how much help you want. We follow your lead.

The same familiar faces

We keep a small, consistent team around you, so you are not explaining yourself to someone new every week.

Regular check-ins

We ask how your support is going and change things when your needs change.

Questions

Can I choose who supports me?

Yes. Tell us what matters to you, such as gender, language, interests or personality, and we will match you with someone you are comfortable with. You can meet them before support starts.

How do you protect my privacy and dignity?

Our support workers are trained to work discreetly and respectfully. You are always in control of how personal care happens, and we follow your preferences about the level of help you want.

What happens if my regular support worker is sick?

We will let you know as early as we can and offer a replacement who has been briefed on your support plan. You can always tell us if you would rather reschedule.
